Swedish pianist Daniel Hormazábal is a multifaceted classical musician, already established with the traditional audience, who also has a great interest in connecting with younger listeners and challenging the conventional concert form. He has through a long collaboration with the Royal Opera House in Stockholm introduced classical music to a younger audience, often in collaboration with singers, actors or dancers, but also as a soloist. Apart from his solo career with a wide range of classical piano repertoire, Mr Hormazábal finds much joy in performing chamber music, most notably with his ensemble Trio Skandinavia.
Since finishing his bachelor studies at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2011, Mr Hormazábal has maintained a busy concert schedule with solo recitals and chamber music concerts throughout Europe, USA and Canada. He graduated in 2016 from Edsberg Manor in Stockholm with a masters degree and post graduate performance diploma under the tutelage of Prof. Mats Widlund.
Mr Hormazábal is a laureate of the “Ljunggrenska competition” in Gothenburg and recipient of the Grand Prize in Chamber Music, awarded by the Royal Swedish Music Academy, together with Trio Skandinavia.
Upcoming projects include the complete Iberia cycle by Isaac Albeniz and the late piano
works of Johannes Brahms.
